Netflix, the streaming service, has started a crackdown against password sharing with friends or relatives, warning users worldwide, including Pakistan, to be cautious. Due to the crackdown on password sharing in various countries, Netflix's user base increased by approximately 6 million from April to June 2023. The initiative began in February, starting with Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain, and later expanded to other countries, including the United States. However, the company has now announced that from July 20, password sharing will be restricted in all countries.

The company has revealed that measures will be taken against password sharing throughout the world starting from Thursday. Netflix stated that in countries where the crackdown has begun, the option for additional memberships will not be introduced as the subscription fee is already quite low there. It should be noted that in late January 2023, the company had revealed how it would prevent one account from being used by different individuals.
