Islamabad: TikTok has issued its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2023 (January to March 2023), revealing that more than 1.7 million videos, which disseminated false information in Pakistan, have been deleted.

 

According to the details, TikTok has released its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2023, which further strengthens its resolve to combat misinformation and create a safer and more reliable platform.

 

During the first quarter of 2023, a total of 91,003,510 videos were deleted globally, accounting for approximately 0.6 percent of all videos uploaded on TikTok. Out of these videos, 53,494,911 were removed through automated systems, while 6,209,835 videos were deleted after manual review.

 

In Pakistan, during the first quarter of 2023, 11,707,020 videos were removed for violating community guidelines. In comparison, during the fourth quarter of 2022, a total of 12,628,267 videos were removed for similar violations in Pakistan.

 

The report states that apart from addressing violations of community guidelines, TikTok has also actively targeted spam accounts and related content, taking precautionary measures to prevent the creation of spam accounts using automated methods.

 

During the first quarter of the current year, approximately 83 percent of videos that violated community guidelines in Pakistan were removed before anyone could view them.
