Islamabad: In an unprecedented move, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched an all-out offensive against the rising tide of illegal loan applications.

Aminul Haque has instructed PTA Chairman Major General Hafeez-ur-Rehman to take immediate action against such applications, leading to the blocking of 43 illegal loan apps so far.

Aminul Haque stated that these companies register with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and PTAs efforts involve collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) for consultation and support.

He further mentioned that the mafia behind lending through platforms like Facebook and other social media sites is blackmailing innocent individuals. He urged the public to report such applications to PTA, FIA Cyber Crime, and local police.

Federal IT Minister Syed Aminul Haque emphasized that instead of waiting for complaints to pile up, FIA Cyber Crime should take proactive action against these elements exploiting the vulnerabilities of the public. Threats, blackmailing, and unauthorized use of personal data are against the law, and loans often amount to thousands of rupees with repayment in lakhs.

Aminul Haque also advised users not to share personal data with anyone influenced by online advertisements and exercise caution in responding to various articals promising to make online dollars. No money or information should be provided in response to such articals.
