A new study indicates that variation in consumption of energy by the energy in our childhood days is deeply associated with obesity or weight gain during adulthood. Energy consumption is different in every child; the intensity, time and duration of energy usage in children affects how they spend their energy. Consumption of energy by the brain linked with weight gain.

We gain excessive weight when we start taking in more calories than needed for our body needs. The situation worsens when we do not take exercise to burn those extra calories. The study suggests that in early childhood days, nearly half of total energy in our body is used by the brain. Christopher Kuzawa, who is a co-author of the research paper, declares that energy expenditure of childhood affects energy patterns in later years.

The author announces that we know the importance of energy burnout in order to lose weight. He further says that at the age of 5 years, children™s brains consume almost half of their bodily energy, which causes them gain more weight when they become adults. However, he admits that they have found no clue yet about the variation of energy consumption among kids.

The aim of the research was to encourage other researchers to join hands to find out about how to measure the energy use of the brain to know more about child development, in particular the studies focused on the risk of obesity.

The findings of the research helped the authors to confirm long-awaited hypothesis in the field of anthropology. The hypothesis said that in comparison with other primates and mammals, human child grows much more slowly as human brain is in need of more energy to develop.
