Students should have access to a wide range of resources

Learning could be enhanced by provision of a wide variety of resources to both teachers and learners. Teaching goals emerge from curriculum. Students™ needs and their interests as expressed by students themselves also give birth to instructional goals. Providing teachers with wide range of resources is like helping them to achieve those goals. Students should have access to a wide range of resources.

Resources are those materials which add up the traditional ways of conveying information. These resources can be in form of experiences too. Both materials and practical experiences supplement can replace outdated forms of information spreading like textbooks. The choice of resources originates from the needs of the community and school and are unique to every school.

These resources include the access to internet as it brings huge variety of knowledge to classroom. Internet offers a virtual library that is multiple times bigger than a physical library in the form of a building in school. However, the vast variety of information available on internet can cause problems as it can make search for a particular topic hard due to the bulk and volume of information that exists online.

Field trips are a source of enhancing learning and coupled with introduction to local experts in classroom setting it can bring efficient results. Learning in this way becomes vivid and more relevant to learners. Another resource that students can have access to is learning through service.

Service learning combines real services offered to community and reflection and analysis of the service offered. To transform community service into learning teachers can guide students to reflect on the circumstances in which they provide service. For example, when working on cleaning the community students can reflect on the source of trash and talk about ecological system.
