School trip: a great way to relax a child or a relic of the past?

A school trip is a time for children when they can get to know their classmates better and take a break from long hours of lessons. Unfortunately, the organization of a school trip does not always meet the expectations of students: sometimes they get bored with it more than during classes. What are these school trips really like and how should they be organized? What are the benefits of going on a school trip for a child?

The idea of trip has a long and old tradition in schools worldwide children visited resorts, museums, places where important historical events took place. The aim was to allow students to have fun and rest outside the school walls, while imparting knowledge to them in a more accessible way than usual - by traveling, sightseeing, and getting to know interesting places and people. Today the assumptions are similar, but the implementation seems more difficult. Getting interested in a school trip for a 21st century child who grows up surrounded by computers, tablets and smartphones is not the easiest thing to do. A modern student often prefers to spend time staring at the screen of an electronic device, especially since on this screen he can read all the information he needs, found on the Internet. The organizers of such trips for young people often do not keep up with these changes, and the programs of school trips still resemble those from several dozen years ago. Children do not want to take part in a school trip, and if they do, they simply get bored during the trip and do not show much interest in its program. Teachers, in turn, feel discouraged by caring for resigned youth.

The form of school trips has worn out, children are bored with them. If absorbing activities are not provided for the participants, the children find them for themselves, and this ends up differently. It is hardly surprising that teachers reluctantly take up the task of organizing a school trip. It requires a lot of effort, especially from young people who do not have such experience.

Organizing a school trip is not the easiest task. The teacher must draw up a trip card, a list of participants, collect the written consent of parents or guardians for the children's departure, prepare a schedule and regulations of the trip, take care of children's insurance. It is also responsible for booking centers, coaches, equipment, purchasing admission tickets, ensuring that children return home safely, and making sure that the equipment that the children will use has all approvals. Therefore, teachers often establish cooperation with companies that offer them the cheapest offers or organize a school trip in places where they have already been many times - where, out of habit, they have been going for years and where nothing changes. So it ends with the part of the class participating in the trip (because often many children from the trip - voluntarily or for financial reasons - resign from the trip) spends this time wandering around the museum after a guide who is unable to convey his knowledge in an interesting way. In the evenings, young people stay in their rooms, spending hours in front of a cell phone or making up plans for not always polite night parties. On the other hand, there are also organized trips abroad, which most children probably would like to go, but which not all parents can afford. Meanwhile, it could be completely different.

A school trip tailored to our times

Taking part in a school trip can be a pleasure for any student. To organize a "real" expedition, you do not need huge financial resources and a lot of self-denial. It is enough to adapt the formula of such a trip to the expectations of modern students.

Modern forms of youth tourism focus on engaging students - a walk along the historical route is replaced by a city game, visiting a museum - with interesting educational workshops. In the evenings, children are not left alone, but are invited to integration games,

A school trip should first of all interest the child with its program: have an interesting formula, involve all participants, stimulate creativity and go beyond the usual thinking patterns. When creating a trip plan, it is best to choose a company that specializes in leisure for children and adolescents, follows trends, and constantly updates the base of attractions and accommodation centers. The teacher, after previous research among people dealing with a given subject, other teachers, will also know perfectly well what place to go with the children and what the guide or expert to take them to, so that the school trip becomes a fascinating adventure for the youngest. Learn a lot of new information in an accessible way, and it will cease to be a new version of school duty.

School trip: why should you enroll your child?

Undoubtedly, a well-organized school trip is a real attraction for a child. However, even if not everything happens as expected by the organizers, such a trip may be of benefit to the student.

  • Thanks to a school trip, a child, especially in first grade, gets the opportunity to establish contacts with classmates faster.
  • A school trip allows you to acquire knowledge in an easier way than on school benches: by getting to know places related to historical events, famous people, getting to know natural monuments, talking to experts in a given field, enthusiasts.
  • A school trip helps to develop a child's curiosity about the world and his interests - thanks to the transfer of knowledge in the field of interest to him in an unusual way.
  • During a school trip, the child improves his or her positive qualities: diligence, perseverance, friendly friendliness, learns to work in a group and improves his physical condition.
  • On a school trip, he simply rests and gains strength before the next, already standard, lessons.
