Westerns is a classic film genre that has been popular for years. Heroic cowboys, beautiful women, bad bandits, and even worse Indians - this is usually a guarantee of success. But when the Netflix platform takes on this genre, anything can happen. Revenge of a gunslinger - do you love westerns.

I am always attentive to information about new movies and series on streaming platforms. Recently, thanks to our series "What's new on Netflix"?. I learned that a new western called Revenge of the Gunslinger will appear on this site. As a little boy, every Sunday with my grandfather. I watched all the possible westerns that Television usually served us at noon.

I am a huge fan of this kind of movie. So I waited with joy for the premiere of Revenge of the Gunslinger. Although a certain dose of anxiety was also there somewhere in my spirit. What can I say, I was quite concerned seeing that the entire cast in the west would be black. And no, I do not mind such a procedure. But remembering the realities of the Wild West and the already cult Django. It is hard to imagine in those times an entire city composed only of people with this skin color.

I Am The Outlaw!

The first 10 minutes of the film give us great hope that Gunslinger's Revenge can be a pretty good production. We see a mysterious cowboy who enters the pastor's house, kills him and his wife, and their little child (a boy about 10) cuts a cross on the forehead with a knife. A scene worthy of Tarantino itself - so it may seem that this is how it will continue. Another scene - this is our main character - the famous Nat Love (he is the kid with the cross cut out on his forehead) in the church shoots the priest, the former bandit. All in all, it is still good. But we ask ourselves - what did this priest do?. Although the main character mentions the wrongs of the past. We, as viewers, do not get an explanation. Apparently, the director decided that we had to figure it out for ourselves.

Film story

As for the director himself, he has one film behind him, which is quite average. This production was released in 2013 and it is, of course. A western about black people. The average rating for the previous production of Jaymes Samuel. Who is also a screenwriter, is 3/10. I seriously wonder what was driving Netflix executives to hire this man. It's like hiring an alcoholic to run a liquor store. Indeed, the qualification is excellent!

Returning, however, to the plot of Revenge of the Gunslinger - well, the main axis of the film is, of course. Nat Love's desire to take revenge on the man who killed his family. It turns out that the boss of a bloodthirsty gang is behind this - the famous Rufus Buck, also known as the devil. So Nat Love gathers her people - including Stagecoach Mary. And together with Sheriff Bass Reaves, they set off to find Rufus. In a word, we have famous historical figures here. We also have a plot as simple as building a flail - how did you manage to spoil it?. And what didn't play there? Well, totally everything!

Pure Wild West?

The director decided to present to us his vision of the Wild West without actually explaining anything. It often seems that this is a pastiche and not a serious story from real people. For example, Buck's bandits have gathered to create "The Promised Land" in the all-black city of Redwood City. The city of Samuel is painted in rich shades: vivid pink, juicy red, and green. The saloon is reminiscent of a jazz club from the 1920s, with colored lights, leather-lined walls. And almost nude dancers painted in blue. And it's all in the Wild West!

Moreover, everything is also owned by black people - from homes and businesses to the government. The director does not explain why this city is the promised land. Apart from an alleged lack of white inhabitants.

Acting in Revenge of the Gunslinger, despite the great cast, is also not outstanding. Idris Elba, who played Buck, was supposed to be a "devil" and a psychopathic gang boss. Interestingly, most of his game looks like someone told him "look scary, that's enough." In fact, throughout the movie. Buck will kill maybe two people. And in the scene where his supporters free him from the transport of prisoners, killing all the (white, of course) soldiers. He just goes in slow motion. And that's all.

The only role in the movie that deserves more attention is Delroy Lindo, who plays Sheriff. His character is charismatic and really well portrayed. As for the rest of the cast. In that one, a father of a family without much time for his daughter has to take responsibility for taking care of her when the zombie apocalypse breaks out as they travel on an ultra-fast train from Seoul to Busan. A couple of superb ideas (the end of the world begins when you are isolated and on the move, and the enemies are not just the zombies, but the tight and confined environment itself) were the fuel for a movie that had just the right doses of sentimentality and action brutal, in the purest Korean style.

Then came a nice superhero demystification film that came to us through Netflix, 'Psychokinesis', and which reinforced the intelligent use of traditional genres to inject subversive messages into their plots, as he had rehearsed in his animated films. Now, Sang-ho Yeon returns to the world of 'Train to Busan' with a sequel that is not such and that opens in theaters in Spain after several delays due, paradoxically, to the effects of a global pandemic. With its precedent it shares the setting, four years after the original outbreak, but comes with a completely new cast.

This time we have a soldier (Gang Dong-won) who fled from Korea and has to return in search of a truck loaded with money. Infected at full speed

Sang-ho Yeon directs the action very well: the incursion of one of the protagonists in the ruthless circus of the military, the aforementioned persecution (yes, due to the abuse of digital effects it is less shocking than the brutal persecutions on foot of 'Train to Busan ') and continuous visual discoveries, mostly related to the organic but inhuman movements of the mass of infected, guarantee a couple of hours of good carefree fun. But in the end, 'Peninsula' is in second place in this lethal and wild race.

The story of this film revolves around a girl who moves to a new town for a job. There she falls in love with a young man who fails to acknowledge her existence. She continues day dreaming about him nonetheless until one day she comes face to face with him and ends up surprised at what she discovers. What happens at the end of the film is a sad surprise for the viewers.

We are talking about the new Mehreen Jabbar's drama "Wehem". The whole story of the drama revolves around psychological thrill, which has never been touched in Pakistan. The gorgeous Naeema but is playing the significant lead role who is suffering from a psychological disorder. There is an excellent contrast between the characters and efforts portrayed by Naeema Butt. This is not a typical story, and the performance in the story is extraordinary.

The story is about Nazia,who has just returned to her apartment after a minor medical procedure. The side effects of the medicine are grogginess and possible hallucinations. However, when she wakes up the next morning, she realizes that she may have witnessed a murder in her neighbor™s apartment. Her closest friends are convinced that it was just a vivid dream or a bad reaction to her medication because all clues point to the fact that it was a delusion. Still, Nazia's gut feeling refuses to accept that so quickly and is determined to find out if what she saw was just her imagination or...an actual murder.

The drama is excellent in terms of its production quality and storytelling techniques, however the time duration is something that needs to be adopted, as it is a short form of filmmaking, which is excellent if you are a millennial or press for time. I loved the acting of Naeema Butt, Shazi Sardar and the Tania Kazi. And a great applause for the writer Shah Yasir for his brilliant script. However a credit goes to Mehreen Jabbar for being courageous enough to give us this excellent entertainment piece.

Mehreen Jabbar's is a Pakistani director who has a 20-year career of directing successful movies and television shows, and she has proved herself as one of the best directors. She has earned both critical and commercial success. Her award-winning TV series and short films include: "Daughter of the late Colonel, Doraha and Beauty Parlour". In 2008 she was awarded the 'Global Film Initiative Grant' on her debut film titled 'Ramchand Pakistani'.  Her work has received numerous awards. Sir Sean Connery will always be remembering as an icon of the movie industry. He has a lot off famous movies to his names and his roles have cemented him as a legend in the industry. Moreover, his charitable work is very profound and has deeply impacted and helped a lot of individuals around the globe.

According to a new study, 2012 Nasal Nightmare is Doctor Strange's Scott Derrickson answer with Ethan Hawke.

The study stems from the Science of Scare broadband selection experiment, in which 50 people were provided with surround sound in 120 hours of horror film. "Each one is equipped with a heart rate monitor to measure which movies bleed the most. Find the best horror movies" and a crown of kings on a gruesome night. "

Sinister had the best results with an average heart rate of 86 beats per minute during the film, a 32% increase from a resting rate of 65 beats per minute. Its terrifying jump also yields a jump of 131 bpm.

In the biggest frightening heart rate jump, Insidious came top with a jump of 133 beats per minute, followed by Sinister and The Exorcist 3 (the final fear of jumping is one of the most famous).

While Derrickson's film takes first place, director James One has three films in the top 10 with Insidious and both spells. Reuters

"Stereotypes were wrong then and they are wrong now."

The message added that instead of removing content, "we want to be aware of the harmful effects, learn from them, and provoke conversations to work together for a more inclusive future."

Other films that carry warnings are The Aristocats, in which a cat with a "yellow face" plays the piano with a stick, and Peter Pan, where racist slander calls Indians "Redskins".

Lady and the Tramp, which has had multiple incidents of racism and cultural stereotypes, also warned.

The company first added a racism warning last November, but it was much shorter.

The disclaimer then reads: "This program is presented as originally created. It may contain outdated cultural images."

Some films, such as "Song of the South", are simply not available for streaming Disney + due to racism.

Racism and Stereotypes in Classic Disney Movies

• Lady and the Tramp (1955): Two Siamese cats, Si and Am, are depicted in anti-Asian stereotypes. There are also scenes of pound dogs where dogs with a pronounced accent depict stereotypes of the countries in which they breed - such as Pedro, the Mexican Chihuahua, and Boris Rusnak Borzoi.
• The Aristocats (1970): A Siamese cat named Shun Gon who is voiced by a white actor is described as a racist caricature of an Asian man. He plays the piano with a stick
• Dumbo (1941): A group of crows helps Dumbo learn to blow off exaggerated stereotypical black noises. The main crow was named Jim Crow - a reference to a number of racial segregation laws in the southern United States at the time - and he was voiced by white actor Cliff Edwards.
• Jungle Book (1968): The character of King Louis, a monkey with poor language skills, sings in the Dixieland jazz style and is described as lazy. The character has been criticized as a racist caricature by African-Americans
• Peter Pan (1953): The film refers to local people as "Redskins", racist slander. Peter and the missing boys also dance in hats, which Disney says today is a "form of mockery and abuse of local culture and image". A song called "What makes a red man red" was also described as racist - later it was renamed "What makes a brave man brave".
• Song of the South (1946): One of Disney's most controversial films yet to be released on video or DVD in the US. Her image of a plantation worker, Uncle Remus, perpetuates the ancient racist myth that slaves are happy in the cotton fields.

Similarly, Warner Bros. has long warned of "ethnic and racial prejudice" in some of his cartoons.

"Even though these cartoons do not represent today's society, they are presented as they were originally created, or else it would be tantamount to claiming this prejudice never existed," warns Warner Bros. Reuters

When the hashtag "#BollywoodStrikesBack" became one of the most popular trends following a defamation suit against a leading media outlet in a recent report on a drug relationship, the Queen star reacted sharply to the failure.

"Bullywood sewers with drugs, exploitation, nepotism and jihad, without cover, instead of cleaning that #BollywoodStrikesBack ditch, file a lawsuit against me and I will continue to expose you #BollywoodStrikesBack as long as I live," he wrote.

Movies like œTaare Zameen Par and œ3 Idiots convey messages of hope and love where children understand that there is more to life than grades and give them very important and moral lessons. However, a side effect of these movies is the integration of Indian cultures and traditions into other neighboring societies, this leads to our youth being more prone to copy said traditions and cultures rather than honoring and respecting their own due to a lack of portrayal of our own values and morals; which yet again makes it necessary for us to produce our own educational and inspirational movies for our youth as neighboring countries do.

Lollywood has definitely made strides in the right direction, with indie films such as œBurqa Avengers indicating the very pivotal cultural difference between traditional Bollywood children films as they portray a culture of film and dance while Lollywood educational films lean more towards discipline and love. Nevertheless, it is still apparent that there is a deep lack of local educational films and TV Shows; previously, PTV and other private news channels aired shows for children at various times of the day, teaching them about the culture of Pakistan. This has now been engulfed by the rise in instant social media such as Youtube and Tiktok. This lack of content for our children is to be blamed when in discord about the cultural identity our youth currently has and to fix it we need to make educational and inspirational movies for youth like our neighbor countries.
