MediaTek will strengthen the cheapest phones

MediaTek will show a new cheap mobile system later this year. However, the new representative of the Helio G series will be much better.

MediaTek is clearly on a roll. The Asian manufacturer increased the advantage over Qualcomm on the market of mobile system designers. Now MediaTek presents more and more new systems. We have already seen the record breaking MediaTek Dimensity 9000, Dimensity 8000 and Dimenisty 8100 are coming, and Kompanio systems for tablets and chromebooks have also appeared.

What will the new MediaTek Helio G be like?

This does not mean, however, that MediaTek has forgotten its roots in pursuit of new markets. The company is preparing a system especially for cheaper devices that only support 4G. This niche is played by the Helio series. MediaTek Helio G96 will soon be continued. It has a 12nm architecture which is now obsolete. Its successor will operate in 6 nm technology.

Besides, the technical specification of the mobile system will not change. Next we will have two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The Mali G57 MC2 will still be responsible for the graphics. Doogee will be the first phone manufacturer to use the new chip. The premiere of the new series should take place in the third quarter of 2022.
