In the modern age of social media, children are highly influenced by the content they watch on their phone. The content they watch however can deeply vary depending on what type of content their parents allow them to watch. In most cases, these children are highly suspectable to watching movies and various other TV shows. Bollywood and Hollywood pay special to these niche markets, with the introduction of Disney movies and Zee Kids in India; this begs the question? Movies like œTaare Zameen Par and œ3 Idiots convey messages of hope and love where children understand that there is more to life than grades and give them very important and moral lessons. However, a side effect of these movies is the integration of Indian cultures and traditions into other neighboring societies, this leads to our youth being more prone to copy said traditions and cultures rather than honoring and respecting their own due to a lack of portrayal of our own values and morals; which yet again makes it necessary for us to produce our own educational and inspirational movies for our youth as neighboring countries do.

Lollywood has definitely made strides in the right direction, with indie films such as œBurqa Avengers indicating the very pivotal cultural difference between traditional Bollywood children films as they portray a culture of film and dance while Lollywood educational films lean more towards discipline and love. Nevertheless, it is still apparent that there is a deep lack of local educational films and TV Shows; previously, PTV and other private news channels aired shows for children at various times of the day, teaching them about the culture of Pakistan. This has now been engulfed by the rise in instant social media such as Youtube and Tiktok. This lack of content for our children is to be blamed when in discord about the cultural identity our youth currently has and to fix it we need to make educational and inspirational movies for youth like our neighbor countries.
