A few weeks ago, there was a lot of information about Intel ARC graphics cards. Although we learned the details of the Xe-HPG architecture this summer, during Intel Architecture Day 2021, the manufacturer has still not disclosed any details about the specifications and performance of the cards. Recently, it was only confirmed that the premiere is to take place in the first quarter of 2022, although no details were given. Meanwhile, the Chinese website ITHome has released some information on the release date of Alchemist chips. They show that Intel plans to debut no earlier than March 2022. We expect a total of three variants for desktops, the first two of which are to compete, among others with GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and Radeon RX 6700 XT.

The Alchemist SoC 2 (DG2-128) chip will be an entry-level design, as previously reported.
According to source Intel originally planned the premiere of ARC cards in January 2022, but it was finally decided to articalpone the premiere to March, i.e. the end of the first quarter. In addition, there is a likelihood that the premiere may be further delayed, already at the beginning of the second quarter. This is another source informing about the articalponement of the premiere. At the beginning of December, we informed that the mass production of chips had not started, and only started sending early samples to AiB partners for testing and preparing appropriate cooling systems and PCBs.
In the case of desktop cards, we expect at least 3 different GPU variants. Alchemist SoC 1 will be offered in two versions: DG2-512 and DG2-384. The first of them, with the unconfirmed name Intel ARC A780, will offer 32 Xe-CORE cores, 4096 stream processors and 16 GB GDDR6. It will be a direct competition for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 cards. The second variant - DG2-384 - will offer 3072 stream processors and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. In this case, it is a competitor card for GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. The third chip is the Alchemist SoC 2 (DG2-128), which will be an entry-level design with 6GB of GDDR6 memory.
