What if you have a website created with Website Editor, but you don't know how to update it as part of a new site created with HTML? How to get HTML for web pages you create

If you created your pages using software, you can go to HTML to modify the pages using the HTML option that came with the program. If you've used an online tool, you may or may not be able to edit your pages using HTML. Few or some creation tools in there have an HTML option or a source option. Find them or open the menu for advanced tools to find these options for working with HTML for your pages.

Save your real web pages in HTML

If your hosting service does not offer the ability to retrieve HTML from the editor, you will not have to forget about old pages or throw them in the trash. You can still use them, but first you have to save them and save them from the fate they experienced. It's easy to save your pages and turn them into something that can be modified with HTML. The very simple and easiest way to do this is to open a page in your browser. Now you should right-click on the page and select View Page. If it opens in a browser tab, right-click on the page and select Save or Save As and save the file to your computer. One caveat is that sometimes when you save a page, it eliminates line breaks. When you open it for editing, everything works together. Instead, you can try to select the HTML you see on the Source View tab, copy it using Control + C. and then paste it into the open notebook window with Control + B. This may or may not save line breaks, but it's worth a try.

Working with saved HTML web pages

You have now saved your webpage. If you want to edit it using HTML, you can open a text editor, edit it on your computer, and then transfer it to a new site via FTP, or copy / paste it into an online editor provided by your hosting service. You can now start adding your old web pages to the new website.
