GTA V - differences in versions for PC, PS5 and XSX

The updated version of GTA V for next-gen consoles is expected to appear in November. On this occasion, we summarize all the differences in the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.

GTA V has been on the market for 8 years, and it premiered on Xbox One and PS3. It is still one of the best-selling titles. Despite this, many players were quite cold about the announcement of the refreshed version for PS5 and XSX consoles. Surely everyone would rather hear about the next part of the game instead. Meanwhile, we wonder what the current versions differ and what can we expect from the improved one.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles offer 4K resolution and can generate 120 frames in games. Unfortunately, currently in the case of GTA V the number of frames is still limited to 30 per second, thus not different from the previous generations.

Due to the fact that both devices have an SSD disk, the time of loading the game has shorter. According to the tests of the user Broughy1322, the loading time of the story mode on the XSX is 37.9 seconds, on the PS5 51 seconds, and on the computer (Intel Core i7-7700K CPU; Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPU; 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz RAM; 250 GB Crucial MX500 SSD) one minute and 10.5 seconds. Loading times in GTA Online are one minute and 20 seconds on XSX, one minute and 30 seconds on PS5, and one minute and 35 seconds on PC. As you can see, the Xbos Series X is subtly ahead of the competition.

Of course, when it comes to the PC version, it all depends on the settings and power of our equipment. It must be remembered that since the release date, many modifications have been released (e.g. natural vision or GTA5 Redux) that allow to improve the overall graphics and support for ray tracing. We can expect more changes and specific information about the refreshed version of the game on November 11.

We can certainly wait for refreshed graphics, more FPS or a general improvement in the optimization of GTA Online, famous for long loading screens. Lines of code for Read Dead Redemption 2 were also found in the game files, which revived rumors that the renewed version of GTA V was to be on the engine of this title. Is there any surprise revolutionary similar to the addition of the first person view (FPP) on PS3 and Xbox 360? We do not know this, but we suspect that over time, the content, including updates, will only be released on new-generation consoles, which means that the new products in GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One will be abandoned. Surely everyone is still waiting to expand the map available in the main lobby, not just in missions.
