Great Indian actor Yousuf Khan know  Dilip Kumar has died at the age of 98. Dilip Kumar was shifted to hospital a few days ago due to respiratory problems.

Funeral prayers of Dilip Kumar will be offered at 5 pm today at Joho Cemetery, Mumbai.

Actor Yousuf Khan alias Dilip Kumar was shifted to another hospital in the same month due to respiratory problems.

Dilip Kumar is considered one of the best and senior actors in India. During his 60-year acting career, he acted in more than 60 films, including Mughal Azam, Andaz, Kranti and countless others.

Dilip Kumar has acted in 62 films. His first film 'Jawar Bhata' was released in 1944.

Sang Dil, Amr, Uran Khatola, On, Andaz, New Era, Madhumati, Yehudi and Mughal Azam are some of such films. He also proved his mettle as a comedian in the films Koh-e-Noor, Azad, Ganga-Jamna and Ram and Shyam.

Dilip Kumar won 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Actor. He was also given the Dada Sahib Phalke Award, the highest award of Indian film in 1994.

He was also awarded Pakistan's highest civilian honor, the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, by the Pakistani government in 1998. Dilip Kumar is the second Indian to receive this award from the Pakistani government.

Yousuf Khan received India's second highest civilian honor, the Padma Bhushan, in 2015. After working in the film 'Qila' in 1998, he said goodbye to the film world.

Dilip Kumar was also elected a member of the Upper House of the Rajya Sabha of India in 2000.

Muhammad Yusuf Khan, also known as Dilip Kumar, was born in 1922 in Peshawar, Pakistan and moved to India in 1935 with his family. His ancestral home is still in Peshawar.

 

The star who ruled the film industry of the subcontinent started his career with Jowar Bhata. After playing an everlasting role in the film Jagnu, he was called the King of Tragedy.

 

He is considered to be the most successful and greatest actor in the history of Bollywood. In his 60-year film career, Dilip Kumar has acted in many successful films. In 1966, he married actress Saira Bano.
