The information from a week ago is confirmed – Facebook has just announced that the name will change. What will be the new identity of Mark Zuckerberg‘s website? Facebook officially changes its name.
Facebook is now… Meta
A week ago, we informed about the intention to change the name of Facebook. The new name is directly related to Zuckerberg’s desire to create a “metaversum” – hence soon all the sites included in the network will function under the name Meta.
Changing the name to Meta does not mean that the name of the most popular site will change. Facebook will still remain Facebook, and so will WhatsApp or Instagram. The change only affects the brand as a whole.
What is Meta supposed to mean?
According to Zuckerberg, “Metawersum” is to blur the boundaries between reality and the virtual world. At the same time, it will open the way to the latest technologies.
What exactly the owner of Facebook, or actually Meta, mean – we will find out in the next five years (during this time Meta intends to employ up to 10,000 people in the European Union).
What do you think about Zuckerberg’s ambitious plans? Is it really possible to blur the differences between the internet and reality? And if so, how?
