Ehsas Program Chairperson Sania Nishtar said that 90 thousand students are being awarded Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship this year.

Dr. Sania Nishtar visited Quaid-e-Azam University to conduct a policy dialogue on Ehsas Scholarships.

Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and other faculty members welcomed Dr. Sania Nishtar.

More than 50 students participated in the policy dialogue and discussed how students from disadvantaged areas could benefit from the Ehsas Scholarship.

He said that Ehsas Scholarship includes 100% tuition fee and monthly stipend.

Appreciating the Ehsas Scholarship, the students said that they were able to pursue higher education through this program. Otherwise, his family had to sell jewelry and livestock because they could not afford to pay his university fees and expenses. The students who received Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarships appreciated that half of the scholarships have been allocated for girls.

The students spoke about their educational ambitions and the challenges they faced in pursuing higher education. Accompanied by Dr. Sania, students from Bahawalpur, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Zhob, Turbat, Gilgit, Ghazar, Chitral and Azad Jammu and Kashmir participated in the policy dialogue. He was studying in various fields like Bioinformatics, Economics, Social Sciences, Archeology, Botany and Studies in Pakistan.

Dr. Sania Nishtar said that the Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Policy has been formulated in such a way that no student is deprived of higher education as he is unable to meet the financial requirements in this regard

He said that any student belonging to a family with a monthly income of Rs. 45,000 or less is eligible to apply for admission in any of the 119 public sector universities for a 4-5 year undergraduate degree. Are given on the basis of.

Regarding the process of awarding Ehsas Scholarships, Dr. Ali said that 451 Ehsas Scholarships have been awarded to deserving students in two years. Scholarships for higher education are being given to deserving students on the basis of transparency and merit.
