High dose medication is any kind of pharmaceutical drug given to children that has high potency I.e it is usually the dose given to either adults or is not suitable for their age.  Giving any kind of medicine above the required dosage is generally extremely harmful and this is usually done without the supervision of a licensed doctor or a pharmacist which is dangerous in and of itself. It is therefore recommended for parents to consult a proper physician in order to ensure that they are giving the proper dosage of said medicine to their child as not doing so can prove to be lethal in some cases. High dose medication for children is extremely potent when discussing infants and children lesser than the age of 14 as they still have developing nervous and skeletal systems which means that some drugs which are okay to take under normal circumstances are not suitable for children at such a young age, piling that with a high dosage of that very medicine might lead to severe health complications which may lead to stunted growth and other mental issues which can be avoided simply by visiting a licensed medical board member and consulting them regarding the proper dosage.

In most of these scenarios, the parents are the main reason to blame as they did not take into account the proper dosage of the medication, or did not consult their physician and instead thought self-medication was a better alternative. In either case it is the child who can suffer from numerous different health complications and in extreme cases can loses his life.  Therefore, it is important for parents to understand the severe consequences of their action and how it can very negatively affect their child’s well-being. So, yes, high dose medication is extremely harmful for children and it must be avoided at all costs.
